Busy

I’m a liar, I know.  I promise things like posting everyday, never to be heard from again.  As it turns out, I’m slightly busy these days, and when I’m not busy, I’m tired, mainly because I’ve been busy.  I have had mild success in kicking the Starbucks addiction.  I got an espresso machine for Christmas, so I’ve been making about 15 lattes a day, which keeps me awake, but making them also keeps me fairly occupied.  It’s an art you know.  Also, I am accustomed to a sugar when I consume my latte, so I have been forced to bake a ridiculous amount of cupcakes, brownies, and cookies.  I am incapable of eating anything else for breakfast.  My kids don’t even question it.

I do feel guilty about letting the blog go.  About every 10 minutes or so, something prompts me to write, but then I am called to do a more pressing task, such as reassemble a broken Lego creation, feed the dog, clean up a spill, fold some laundry, or my personal favorite, wipe someone’s rear end.  I feel like you should know that someone is pooping in this house at all times.  It’s the unfortunate side effect of having kids who love fruits and vegetables.

I have also been tied up in heated debates with Mr. Incredible.  Our dumpster minivan is on its last wheel, and we have begun the process of looking for a new vehicle.  You may notice that I wrote “vehicle,” not minivan.  That’s because I don’t want another minivan.  Mr. I. does.  The only real explanation for this is that he likes me to feel like a total tool every time I have to go somewhere.  I offered to get a minivan and then switch cars with him.  He’s still thinking about that one.  I think he may fear that if he allows me to have a vehicle that doesn’t scream “mom car,” I may forget I’m a mother and wife and disappear.  I’m not sure how that’s possible when I have three children with me at all times, but I do appreciate that he thinks I still have the energy to start over.  I assure you, I do not.

So that’s what’s been happening here.  Oh, and I colored my hair. . . BROWN.  I am no longer startled by my reflection, so I suppose I’m getting used to it.  That’s all I have to report from here.  Just checking in to let you know I’m still around, should you care, and plan on getting back to some sort of normal posting schedule asap.  And by asap, I mean whenever I feel like it.

Happy Tuesday and if you have snow, send it my way.

  1. I will admit that I love my van! :) The 2011′s are quite nice…check them out! Erma just got a 2011 Highlander and it is really nice but I don’t think the 3rd row is very big, especially for car seats and friends.

Soooo glad we talked today. I miss you! I think we will have a couple of snow days by the end of the week, so hopefully we can catch up again.

I am glad you posted! Makes my evening! :)

  2. Will gladly send any cold and snow we have – good luck w/ your new vehicle – whatever it may be!

And yes, it’s humorous to think of every having enough energy to “start over!”

  3. Gave you a shout out today…and look at that…another post! hehe! Now if I would just birth this baby then everything would be perfect in my world!

Thanks for the smiles and distraction during this anxiety filled time!
